Rocchi Paolo
Docent IBM Emeritus

Professor, Luiss University

 

In 1969 he graduated in physics from La Sapienza University of Rome, which he served as an assistant in 1970. Next year he entered IBM and thenceforth worked with this company. Upon retirement, he has been recognized as an Emeritus Docent at IBM for his scientific achievements, and serves as an Adjunct Professor at Luiss University of Rome. Rocchi has authored over one hundred and thirty works including thirteen volumes.

 

Scientific interests:

  • Stochastic entropy, physical models of system aging and of system repairability

  • Subjective and frequentist interpretations of probability

  • Basic properties of classical and quantum information

  • Unifying calculus of redundancy

  • Methodologies for software programming and engineering

  • Didactics of informatics

Teaching experience:

Courses on the Foundations of Computer Science and Programming, on Structural Analysis and Design, on Objects-Oriented Analysis.

 

Personal data :

Born in 1946. Married, with a daughter and a son. Spoken languages: Italian, English, French Hobbies: tennis, skiing and skating
