North American Electric
Reliability Council (NERC)
NERC's mission is
to ensure that the bulk electric system in North America is
reliable, adequate and secure. Since its formation in 1968,
NERC has operated successfully as a self-regulatory
organization, relying on reciprocity and the mutual
self-interest of all those involved in the production,
transmission, and distribution of electricity in North
America.

Reliability Center Inc.
Reliability
Center, Inc. was established in 1972 as a Research &
Development arm of a major U.S. corporation. In 1985, RCI
became an independent corporation under the direction of
founder and president Charles J. Latino, whose goal is to
spread the reliability message to companies all over the
world.
RCI takes a holistic, systems approach to a company's
processes and operations. The Center's staff and strategic
partners -- recognized experts from around the nation --
study client processes and systems to understand how the
various parts work together. Any changes and modifications
they recommend will take into account the entire process,
and therefore have a much greater chance of success.

Gnedenko
e-Forum
Gnedenko e-Forum
is named after outstanding probabilist and statistician
Boris Vladimirovich Gnedenko.
Gnedenko e-Forum is a voluntary informal association of
specialists dealing with reliability and queuing theories
and their applications. Main form of the Forum activity is
exchange of professional information through the Forum’s
website. The Forum is non-profit organization. Financial
support of the Forum (for instance, payment for the Forum’s
website) is performed on the basis of voluntary donations
from the Forum’s members.

RELIABILITY ENGINEERING & SYSTEM SAFETY
NEW AIMS
AND SCOPE Reliability Engineering and System Safety is an
international journal devoted to the development and
application of methods for the enhancement of the safety and
reliability of complex technological systems, like nuclear
power plants, chemical plants, hazardous waste facilities,
space systems, offshore and maritime systems, transportation
systems, constructed infrastructure and manufacturing plants.
The journal normally publishes only articles that involve
the analysis of substantive problems related to the
reliability of complex systems or present techniques and/or
theoretical results that have a discernable relationship to
the solution of such problems. An important aim is to
achieve a balance between academic material and practical
applications.
The following topics are within the scope of the journal:
methods for reliability and probabilistic safety assessment;
model and parameter uncertainties; aleatory and epistemic
uncertainties, sensitivity analysis, data collection and
analysis; engineering judgement and expert opinions; human
reliability; test and maintenance policies; models for
ageing and life extension; systems analysis of the impact of
earthquakes, fires, tornadoes, winds, floods, etc.; codes,
standards and safety criteria; operator decision support
systems; software reliability; methods and applications of
automatic fault detection and diagnosis; dynamic reliability;
design and evaluation of man machine systems and human
interfaces; design innovation for safety and reliability;
safety culture; accident investigation and management. The
journal does not normally publish articles that involve
fuzzy sets and related non-probabilistic methods unless they
contribute significantly to the solution of substantive
problems related to the analysis of real systems.
The journal will contain contributed material in the form of
original research papers, review articles, industrial case
studies, safety recommendations, and short communications.

International Journal of
Performability Engineering
International Journal of Performability Engineering (IJPE), which
was started as a quarterly journal in 2005 (400 printed
pages in a year) will now be published as a bimonthly journal
(six times in a year, totaling 600 printed pages) from 2010
onwards in January, March, May, July, September and November,
every year. Of these six issues, one or two may be special
issues on research areas of current concern or interest
related to performability engineering.
The Editorial
Board of IJPE comprises some of the most distinguished
professionals in the world who are well-known in their
respective areas and bring in their rich experience and
expertise to IJPE from various realms of performability
engineering. The Journal is supported by Regional Editors,
Group Editors, Associate Editors and a Short communication
Editor, who help maintain high standards for the journal.
All papers
published in IJPE are subjected to a strict review process
and are published only when they satisfy the reviewers'
expectations of excellence often after several rounds of
revisions. The authors can check the status of their papers
on the Papers
Accepted on the journal's website. One can check out
the Past
Issuespage for the titles of papers already published in
the Journal and also for the titles of papers scheduled to
be published in the Forthcoming
Issues. International Journal of Performability
Engineering likes to keep its readers well-informed about
the latest developments taking place around the world in the
area of performability engineering by inviting experts,
specialists, and leading researchers to plan and guest
editedSpecial
Issues on topical issues of concern related to
performability engineering.
The IJPE
also encourages publication of Short
Communications within three months of their submission
to help publicize new ideas, concepts or results. To update
the information of our readers on the availability of new
useful literature in the area of performability engineering,
IJPE provides reviews of latest books on the Review
of Latest Books page. Further, to provide an update on
the current events of interest to its readers, IJPE
maintains a webpage News
Updates on its website.

Center for Reliability and Risk Management (CRRM)
CRRM
was established in 2005 as
Research Centre in the Sami Shamoon College of Engineering. The
CRRM is an Academy-industry association established in order
to improve industrial productivity and efficiency through
advanced reliability, availability, maintenance and safety (RAMS)
technologies and corresponding risk management and logistics
principles.
The
survivability investigations also include safety and
security issues. The Vision of the CRRM is to provide
research, education and technology assessment, information
sharing and business support in the areas of modern RAMS
technologies and corresponding risk management and logistics
principles.
CRRM bridges
the gap between theoretical advances in academia and
practical engineering in industry. In order to provide
high-level research work CRRM is functioning under
supervision of International Scientific Board which includes
the leading experts from all over the world that have
demonstrated outstanding achievements in the field. They
execute for CRRM projects expertise, determine most
important directions of research works and provide necessary
consulting.
