colleagues,
At present, a
scientific and technical journal «Dependability» is published under the
auspices of Russian Railways. This journal is a single specialized
edition in the field of dependability and functional safety of
technical systems not only in Russia and CIS countries, but also in
Europe.
The journal
«Dependability» is included in the list of the leading journals and
editions of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Federation
(VAK).
The problem
of functional safety and dependability management is one of the major
issues on transport. JSC RZD develops and actively implements the
technology of reliability, availability, maintainability and safety
ensuring at all stages of a life cycle (URRAN/RAMS) based on
international and domestic standards.
New
approaches to defining operational parameters of dependability and
safety, a large scale of the technology implementation as well as
investment management at life cycle stages require involving a wide
range of researchers and experts in these areas.
I believe it
will be fruitful to use the journal’s pages as a platform for discussing
the most vital issues of dependability and functional safety of
transport systems while actively subscribing for this edition. The
journal’s pages are planned to cover the most tangible results of
scientific and technical works performed by the Company in the area of
dependability and functional safety.
