Yulia R. Gel Associate Professor at the Department of Statistics and Actuarial Science at the University of Waterloo, Canada.   She got her PhD degree in Mathematics from Saint-Petersburg State University, Russia. She held visiting positions at the University of Washington, George Washington University and University of California, Berkeley, USA.   Her main research interests stem around time series analysis, spatio-temporal modeling and nonparametrics.     e-mail: ygl@math.uwaterloo.ca
