Research Interests
Irina M. DRĂGAN has graduated the
Faculty of Economics in 1997, holds a MSc in Economics in 1998, she
holds a PhD diploma in “Cybernetics and Economic Statistics” since
2004 and she had gone through all didactic positions since 1997 when
she joined the staff of the Bucharest Academy of Economic Studies.
Between 1999 and 2002 she developed at Göteborgs Universitet in
Sweden research activity and took several courses at master and
doctoral level. Since 2008 is Associate Professor (Reader) of
Statistics and Econometrics within the Department of Statistics and
Econometrics. She is the author of more than 10 books and over 50
journal articles and studies in the field of statistics, macro and
microeconomics and econometrics. She is also project director or
member in many important research projects. She is member of the
scientific board for Journal of Applied Quantitative Methods, member
of Romanian Regional Science Association, International Regional
Science Association, Romanian Statistics Society and General
Association of Economists in Romania. Moreover, she holds many
awards like “Nicolae Georgescu-Roegen Diploma” in 2002, 2003, 2005,
“Excellence Diploma” in 2000, 2001, Romanian Statistics Society’s
“Honor Diploma” for the most valuable PhD thesis in Statistics in
2004.
