University (1957). Diploma in Mathematics. Postgraduate studies at the
Institute of Mathematics, Ukrainian Academy of Sciences (1957-1960)
under supervision of B.V.Gnedenko, with consults of A.N.Kolmogorov.

(1968-1971); Professor of T.Shevchenko Kyiv State University (1971-1984)
and of Kyiv Supreme Radiotechnical College (1984-1987) Professor/Dean
of the Applied Mathematics Faculty of Kyiv Polytechnic (1987-1992).
Supervision
of PhD of more man 30 postgraduate students in former SU and of
Doctoral dissertations of 5 postdoctoral research fellows in Kyiv and
Moscow. I also supervised a few research seminars in Moscow and Kyiv,
among them the Seminar on queueing theory in M.Lomonosov Moscow State
University in the 60s (jointly with B.V.Gnedenko, Yu.K.Belyaev and
A.D.Soloviev).
Publications
More than 100 papers in journals having been
reviewed, and 20 books.
Invited lectures
and/or Participation in Program Commitees of at least 10
scientific conferences; among them, of 10th Applied Probability
Conference (Ulm, 1999) and Conference on Reliability & Maintenance
(MMR2000, Bordeaux).
Editorial Work
I am a member of Editorial Boards of the
Journals Cybernetics & Systems Analysis (Kyiv), Reports of the National
Acad Scis Ukraine and Artificial Intelligence (Donetsk). For long terms
I was a member of Editorial Boards the Journals: Engineering Cybernetics
(Moscow), Discrete Mathematics (Moscow). At least 20 years I edited
reviews in the Russian Mathematical Reviews; I have published about 3000
reviews in this journal. I also edited and translated several books.
