Katya Gnedenko

 

Ekaterina “Katya” Gnedenko received her PhD degree in Agricultural and Resource Economics from the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of Connecticut, and a degree in Socio-Economic Geography and Economics from the Moscow State University (degree is called “Kandidat Nauk” in Russian).

 

She is a lecturer in the Department of Economics at Boston University and an affiliated faculty at the BU Global Development Center. Her research interests are in natural resource and urban economics with the focus on optimal land use policy in transition economies.

 

Research interests:

 

·         natural resource economics

·         land regulation

·         land reform in transition economies

·         optimal land use

·         open space and farmland conservation

·         quantitative economics and data analysis
